This is a float I have
been thinking about for a while,
having drawn shallow swims that
require a small float but heavy enough
to hold back and carry some weight. I
have designed this float as a stick
float with an extra large dome.
It's an ideal float made of Balsa and
a strong heavy alloy stem but with the
added heavy large dome to act as a
floatant stablizer which can carry
larger bait such as luncheon meat,
worms, bunches of maggots or casters
dragging along the bottom.
The float is less likely not to drag
under when dragging the bottom of the
river also when holding back
especially when trotting under a
overhanging tree or bush.
The float is strong and
hardy and is ideal for catching larger
fish such as Barbel and Chub The float
is about six inches long and come in
either yellow or blaze tops
Fast flowing shallow rivers such as
the Severn, Wye, Avon and my local
rivers Taff and Usk and many others
would require and benefit this type of
shallow stick float
Definitely worth carrying a set in
your tackle box the float comes in
three sizes 3 Gram 2 Gram 1 1/2 Gram
