THE WHITE LOAF

The term Balsa loaf is a later edition to my range of river floats, basically a trade name for the chub float.

The Balsa Loaf and a stream line body with a shoulder, fished top and bottom and the best type to use in clear water is a white Float. This float can give an ideal camouflage affect, almost like a bubble in the water. In low clear swims this is an unbeatable float for catching shy biting fish.

It can come in a whole range of sizes from 4bb to seven Swan, Fished like the chubber with the bulk down it can be cast from the side or overhead Precision engineered and will carry the shotting capacity as printed on the side of the float, fixed with float rubbers top and bottom also comes with an eye at the bottom.

The tip of the float has a highly coloured top for seeing the float at distances; some-floats come shaped like an Avon. This float has a high buoyancy value, and is ideal for fishing large baits such as wasp grub, bread, and luncheon meat. Worms etc... It glides down the swim with ease and is less likely to drag under with turbulent currents.

This float can be used anywhere where the flow is strong and powerful river's such as the Hampshire Avon, Trent, Stour, Kennet, Ure, Severn. Warfe, Thames, Wye, Derwent, Swale, all work well with this float. I have used this float with great affect on shallow rivers, as well as the Usk and Wye and have bagged on this float using the bread method.

Shotting this float can be done either by bulking down and a few droppers, or shotted like a big stick making sure that the line is feathered to eliminate tangles. Greasing the main reel line helps to aid trotting. Stops the float from coming out of position when mending the line, keeping a tight line-from rod to-float.
